Radar Finance Privacy Policy

Where we try to make legal stuff actually readable

Effective Date: March 30, 2025

(Also known as the day we decided to make privacy policies less boring)

1Introduction

Welcome to Radar Finance! This is our Privacy Policy, which is that thing most people skip but really shouldn't. We've tried to make it less sleep-inducing than most legal documents. This explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our web, iOS, and Android applications.

By using Radar Finance, you're agreeing to these terms. Don't worry, we're not asking for your firstborn child or the password to your secret cookie stash - just basic info to make our app work for you.

This Privacy Policy complies with applicable privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and app store requirements from Apple and Google. Yes, we jumped through all the legal hoops so you don't have to.

2Information We Collect

Personal Information

We collect just enough information to let you use our app without constantly asking "Who are you again?":

  • Name (any name you want to use - superhero alias totally acceptable)
  • Email address (we promise not to flood it with cat videos)
  • Password (stored in encrypted form so even we can't see it)

Financial Information

We collect the financial data you choose to enter into the app, such as:

  • Check register entries (we won't judge your impulse purchases)
  • Bill payment schedules (adulting is hard, we get it)
  • Other financial planning information (your plans to become a billionaire are safe with us)

We do NOT collect actual bank account credentials or payment card information. We don't want that responsibility, and you probably don't want us to have it either.

Information Collected by App Stores

When you download our app through Apple or Google, those platforms may collect certain information as part of the download process. This collection is subject to their privacy policies, not ours. We don't have access to or control over this data. (We're not spying on you through them, promise).

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies only for authentication purposes (login functionality). Unlike your ex, we don't track your every move.

3How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Keep our service running (that's kind of the point)
  • Make sure it's actually you logging in (not that guy trying to see if you're actually sticking to your budget)
  • Let you use all the cool features of our app (that's what you're here for)
  • Keep your financial data secure (because that's just good manners)

4Data Security

All your data is encrypted during transmission AND while stored on our servers. Think of it as your data wearing both a bulletproof vest AND a disguise. We take security seriously - almost as seriously as you take your morning coffee.

In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we'll notify you promptly as required by law. No "oops, we forgot to mention this for 6 months" nonsense here.

5Information Sharing and Disclosure

We Do NOT Sell Your Data

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data isn't our product - our app is. Novel concept, we know.

Service Providers

We may work with trusted third-party companies to help run our service, but they only have access to what they absolutely need, and they're contractually obligated to keep your information confidential. Think of them as the trustworthy friend who helps you move but doesn't read your diary while packing it.

6Data Retention

We keep your information until you tell us not to. You can delete specific entries anytime in the app, or tell us to delete everything if you're going for that digital minimalist lifestyle.

7Your Rights

General Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your personal information (it's yours, after all)
  • Correct inaccurate personal information (because typos happen)
  • Delete your personal information (digital decluttering is therapeutic)
  • Control how your personal information is used (you're the boss)

Most of these can be done right in the app - no need to file paperwork in triplicate.

California Residents' Rights Under CCPA

If you're in California, you get extra rights (it's like living in the VIP section of privacy law):

Right to Know

You can ask us what personal information we've collected about you. We won't respond with "wouldn't you like to know" because, well, you have a legal right to know.

Right to Delete

You can request deletion of your personal information. Marie Kondo would be proud.

Right to Opt-Out of Sale

We don't sell your information, so there's nothing to opt out of. But we thought you should know you have this right anyway. Consider it like being told you have the right to refuse unicorn rides when unicorns don't exist.

Right to Non-Discrimination

We won't treat you differently for exercising your CCPA rights. We're not petty like that.

8How to Exercise Your Rights

Most rights can be exercised directly in the app - we made buttons and everything! For account deletion, contact us using the info below.

We'll confirm we got your request within 10 business days and respond fully within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll let you know (up to 90 days total). We're fast, but sometimes legal stuff moves at the speed of...well, legal stuff.

To verify it's really you making the request, we'll use information you've already provided. No need to send us a copy of your birth certificate and a lock of hair.

9Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we'll:

  • Send you an email (that you might mark as spam, but please don't)
  • Post the new policy on our website (that you probably won't visit just to read this)

We update at least once every 12 months, even if it's just to change the effective date and feel accomplished.

10Third-Party SDKs and Services

Our app may include third-party software development kits (SDKs) and services with their own privacy policies. We recommend checking those out too, though we know you probably won't. They're about as thrilling as this policy, but with different company names.

11Data De-Identification and Anonymization

When we use data for analytics, we strip out identifying information. We don't need to know it was specifically YOU who spent three hours organizing your budget categories at 2 AM on a Tuesday.

12Children's Privacy

Our service isn't meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their personal information. If your child has somehow created an account, please let us know so we can fix that situation. Kids should be playing outside or something, not managing virtual checkbooks.

13International Users

Our services are mainly for users in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. If you're accessing from elsewhere, your information may be transferred to and stored in the US. By using our app, you're consenting to this transfer. Sorry, data has to go through customs too.

14Accessibility

This Privacy Policy is designed to be accessible to users with disabilities. If you have trouble accessing it, please contact us. We want everyone to be able to be bored equally by privacy policies.

15Notice at Collection

This Privacy Policy serves as our "notice at collection" required under the CCPA. Consider yourself officially noticed.
